"Llano Estacado--the Staked
Plains." As I photographed this project, I
contemplated an aphorism quoted by my father
: "You can't put stakes in a straight line
without walking backwards." I recorded
vernacular markers of conflicting tensions
and unresolved issues that are current on the
Llano: Technology, Disappearing Resources,
Constructed Realities and Mythical Histories.
Copies of these photographs are in the
Southwest Collection at Texas Tech
University. |
